Once a Burner, always a Burner
Legends Cup
Once a year, past Burners pull the boots back on and take on today's squad at Howard Dawson Reserve. Played for the club in any decade? This one's for you.
What is the Legends Cup?
The Legends Cup is the club's annual past players day. A Legends FC side made up of former Burners from every era takes on the current squad at Howard Dawson Reserve, with the Legends Cup trophy on the line.
We started it in 2024 to honour the people who built the club and to bring past and present players together. Swinburne has been going since 1977, and the Legends Cup gives everyone who's worn the shirt a reason to come back and meet the current squad.
It's grown into one of the biggest days on our calendar: a family day with a kids' game at half-time, face painting, music, a canteen and BBQ, then food and drinks at the Elgin Inn. It also raises money for the club.
