Welcome to the new Swinburne FC website

Fixtures, ladders, news, events, five decades of history and a much easier way to join, all in one place and built to work on your phone. Here is a tour, plus a few ways you can help us fill in the gaps.

Welcome to the new home of the Burners online

Welcome to the new home of the Burners online. The club has a brand new website, built from the ground up to make everything about Swinburne FC easier to find, whether you are a player, a parent, a past player, a sponsor or someone who has just heard about us.

Here is a quick tour of what is new.

The new Swinburne FC home page

News, with a most read list

The news page now shows several stories at once, and you can see which articles are being read the most. The stories from our old website have made the move, and the old links still work, so anything you have bookmarked or shared will land in the right place.

Match Centre

Each of our four sides has its own page with fixtures, results and the ladder. That covers the Seniors, Reserves, Thirds and our new casual Over 30s side. You will also find the Australia Cup (Dockerty Cup) rounds, the season’s award leaders and a link to match replays on our YouTube channel.

Events you can put in your phone

The events page is a month by month calendar of every date that matters, from the AGM to the season launch and Round 1. You can filter by social, football and club events, and subscribe so the dates land straight in your phone or Google Calendar and stay up to date as we add events.

Subscribe once and every club date follows you.

An easier way to join

Thinking about playing, volunteering or sponsoring? The Join page is one short form, and you get a confirmation email straight away. The Registration page walks you through the steps and the 2027 fees, and our first training guide covers what to bring and where to go on your first night. Training runs from late January to September, so please do not turn up in the off-season.

Built for your phone

Most people will look at the site on their phone, so that is where we started. Everything works just as well in your pocket as on a laptop.

Five decades of history

This is the part we are proudest of. The History section tells the story of the club from its founding in 1977, with the honour board, our titles and trophies, the Legends Cup, the HDR Cup, our Australia Cup runs and the classic matches. It also has full stories on the 2023 Cupset against Lyndale United and the story of how we forfeited for the Socceroos.

The History page

Five decades of the Burners, from a student side in green and gold to four teams in red and white.

Help us fill the gaps. History is only as good as what we can find. If you have old photos, team sheets, medals or trophies from your playing days, especially from the 1980s and 90s, we would love to add them to the archive. Spotted something wrong or missing on the honour board? Tell us that too.

Were you at the Cupset? We have the video of the winning penalty against Lyndale United, but hardly any photos from the day. If you have shots of the shootout, the late equaliser, Mackenzie Hyder’s winner or the circle after the win, please send them in.

Everything else

The committee page shows who does what and how to lend a hand, and our sponsors page shows the businesses that back the club. If you ever need to raise something privately, there is a confidential way to contact the President. The committee can also update the site themselves without any coding, so it will stay fresh long after this launch.

Have a look and tell us what you think

Take a few minutes to explore, and if you spot anything we have missed, a mistake or something you wish was here, let us know through the contact page. This is your club’s website, and it will keep getting better with your help.
