Swinburne FC are thrilled to announce Joel Kleber as the club’s new head coach, ahead of the upcoming Metropolitan season.

Former Best & Fairest winner, Kleber, is ready to get started in his new role which sees him back involved in the club after a hiatus.

Kleber was a staple of the Men’s Seniors side that competed in State League 5 East playing in the red & white stripes from 2011-2019.

“Swinburne is a great club, I have made most of my friends via it still to this day via the connections made through the team,” Kleber said.

“Swinnie has always tried to play the right way and gives everyone the opportunity to improve and have fun.”

“There is a certain vibe with the club and everyone always remembers their days fondly at the club.”

“This year I hope to help everyone get better as a player and build their self confidence.”

“We obviously want to win as many games as possible, however, getting better as a player and understanding the game better is my main goal for everyone for the season.”

The 35-year-old will formally begin as Head Coach on Thursday the 4th of April as he conducts his first training session back at Howard Dawson Reserve.

Kleber will take the Senior Men’s side on Sundays competing in Metropolitan 2 South-East, the highest tier the club has played in since 2018.
