Dual Winners and Double Honours Highlight Swinburne FC Presentation Night

We held our annual Presentation Night last night at the Elgin Inn, celebrating our many award winners and reflecting on a great season together.
With 35 people in attendance, we handed out plenty of awards, the highlight being the joint crowning of Seniors Player of the Season winners Ansel Furtado and Tom Pollock. It’s the first time since 2007 the seniors have had dual winners.
Pollock, who originally joined the club in 2013, shared a few words when presented with his award:
“It’s obviously a club that means a lot to me. I’ve spent a lot of time here, so it’s well and truly an honour to have won this with Ansel as well.”
There were a few double winners on the night, with Sam Young taking home both Reserves Player of the Season (POTS) and Golden Boot, while Hamish O’Shea claimed both Thirds POTS and Golden Boot in his first season at the club.

It’s also worth noting Rishi’s back-to-back Golden Boots, impressively achieved in different teams — last year in the Thirds and this year in the Reserves.
We also introduced a couple of new awards this year, with Goal of the Year, a fan-voted award, going to Ansel Furtado, and Young Player of the Year awarded to Alex Boni-Finch.
